CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — For some in Cambridge, a year of pandemic restrictions meant a year of missing hugs with mom.
With the U.S. vaccination campaign fully open, that was no longer the case for one mother-daughter pair that spoke to WBZ NewsRadio.
"It's really great to hug again, I must say, hugs are a big benefit of the vaccine," said Anna Winger. Anna was out for a bite to eat Sunday morning with her teenage daughter Bella, but they had been unable to hug Anna's mother because they live in Germany, but that's changed now.
Two others in Cambridge were on a late mission to get their mothers something special before they woke up. In Harvard Square, two Mother's Day shoppers were trying to find breakfast for their moms, but it couldn't be from just anywhere. Thais and AJ were looking for croissants.
"Our mothers know...It needs to be high quality," said Thais.
The two had been up since 7:00 AM, trying to find the perfect breakfast.
