Multiple Fire Crews Battle Massive Blaze In Somerville

SOMERVILLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Local fire crews provided mutual aid early Saturday afternoon after a massive fire overtook a multi-family home in Somerville.

According to the Massachusetts Red Cross, six adults and no children were displaced from the two-story building on Morrison Avenue.

Several witnesses on scene recorded videos of the large flames and smoke rising from the home, posting them to social media.

Responding departments included the Somerville Fire Department, Malden Fire, Cambridge Fire, Belmont Fire and more.

Officials have not yet confirmed if there were any injuries or deaths in the fire.

The cause of the blaze is currently unknown, but WBZ NewsRadio has reached out to multiple fire departments for comment and will update this story if more details become available.
