BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Aly Raisman first came forward in 2017 about sexual abuse at the hands of USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar.

The abuse started when she was a teenager, the three-time Olympic gold medalist said.

Now, her second book aims to teach children about consent.

Raisman hopes "From My Head to My Toes" reminds kids "your body is your own and your voice is powerful," she said on Instagram.

"I wanted to create a book to empower, educate, and emphasize the importance of trusting and knowing yourself," Raisman wrote in the book.

The Needham native released her first book in 2017, the same year she broke her silence on sexual abuse by Nassar.

Her memoir, "Fierce: How Competing for Myself Changed Everything," landed on the New York Times' 2017 bestsellers list for hardcover young adult books.

Raisman's new book features illustrations by 2007 L. Ron Hubbard Illustrator of the Future Award winner Bea Jackson.

Buy "From My Head to My Toes" April 2, 2024.
