Needham Police Rescue Owl From Soccer Net Tangle

NEEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Needham police officers cut an owl free from its tangle in a soccer net Monday morning, the department said on Facebook.

"We know it was April Fools, however, Mr. Owl was far from amused. Whooooooooooooooooooo knew!" police said.

A video showed the bird taking off from an officer's gloved hands.

The department said it soared over the tree line at Pollard Middle School on its own power.
