CONCORD, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu is recovering after being hospitalized over the weekend. The governor first reported that he was feeling ill with COVID-like symptoms on Wednesday, and took three successive COVID-19 tests which all came back negative.

Sununu was admitted to a hospital on Friday, and his spokesperson said he had been diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer on Saturday, according to the AP. The governor received a blood transfusion, and was discharged from Portsmouth Regional Hospital on Saturday, and thanked the staff at the hospital in a Tweet.

The governor collected well-wishes from across the state's political world, including the legislature's senate president, house speaker and senate minority leader.

Sununu is now recovering at home, and no timeline has been released for his return to the office.
