BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A new program is helping Boston residents renovate and expand their homes making more room for growing families or helping keep older family members close.

It’s called the Additional Dwelling Unit Pilot Program, and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu says it provides homeowners with no interest loans helping them make their homes more livable. “Our homeowners now have the ability to renovate and expand their homes without financial barriers and without technical barriers,” she said. “We need more housing in Boston, and we need to build generational wealth in Boston.”
