DEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — As anyone who cares for aging parents or someone with a disability knows, making sure people under their care are safe is a priority.
And now, a free program in Norfolk County is helping with that responsibility.
The Norfolk County sheriff's office has launched a program called 'Are You OK?'
Signing up for the program is free.
Once in the program, an operator from the sheriff's office calls the household daily making sure everything is alright and people are safe.
If the answer is 'no' or no one answers, then help is on the way. Family members are also contacted.
The sheriff's office runs 'Are You OK?' in partnership with Fallon Ambulance.
