NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Towns of North Attleboro and Plainville are warning residents to boil their water after finding E.coli in the water supply.

Samples collected Wednesday tested positive for the bacteria at the two towns' joint water treatment plant.

Officials are telling residents to boil all the tap water they use for a minute, including for brushing their teeth. They also say any uncooked food or ice prepared with the water on Wednesday or earlier should be thrown away.

Both towns are setting up water bottle pickup locations to make sure residents there have enough water. Plainville's will be at the town's DPW yard at 29 West Bacon Street, between 3:00 and 7:00 PM today, and 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Friday and every other day the ban continues. North Attleboro will give out water at the town's DPW Garage at 240 Smith Street starting at 3:00 PM on Thursday and until the order ends.

It's only the latest E.coli outbreak in a local town's water supply — Mansfield was under a days-long boil water order earlier this month.
