Police Investigate Unintentional Gunshot At Cambridge School, No Injuries

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Cambridge police launched an investigation Tuesday after a resource officer "unintentionally discharged" his gun in a staff bathroom at Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School, the department said in a press release.

Nobody was injured and classes continued as normal, according to the press release.

Officer Frank Greenidge has been reassigned pending an investigation.

"The Cambridge Police Department has strict policies regarding the use, maintenance, and storage of all department issued firearms," investigators said in the press release. "The department is investigating whether there was a violation of those policies.

Investigators said they will issue an update after the probe.
