Brockton Police responded to the scene after receiving two 911 calls, one from inside the home for a report of an unresponsive male and a second from an neighbor reporting gunshots, Cruz said.

Cruz said first responders found 56-year-old Sheron Trowers in the driveway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Trowers was rushed to the hospital, where she died of her injuries.

Police entered the home and found 61-year-old Carlos Brown dead in the living room from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Cruz said.

According to Cruz, Trowers was returning home from a trip to Jamaica when she was ambushed in the driveway and shot several times. After allegedly shooting Trowers, Brown went inside the house and shot himself.

Cruz said Trowers and Brown were in a domestic relationship and had a history of domestic violence.
