Police Rescue Owl Off Route 1 On Easter Sunday

DANVERS Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Mass. State Police officer rescued an injured owl from the side of Route 1 in Danvers early on Easter Sunday morning after spotting the bird stranded on the side of the highway. Trooper Peter Spinale of State Police-Newbury set up flares to protect it until Massachusetts Environmental Police could respond and transport it to a wildlife rehabilitation facility, according to the department’s Facebook post. It is unclear what caused the owl’s injuries.
