BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Saturday, April 20 is Record Store Day, an annual celebration of local independent record stores.

The event began in 2007 amongst a small group of record store owners and has since grown to include thousands of stores across the world. It has also become a holiday for music lovers, who flock to their favorite stores to pick up exclusive vinyl releases from popular artists new and old.
