BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — It turns out walking across a crosswalk in Boston's Oak Grove isn't as straight forward as you may think.
WBZ's Matt Shearer went to the area in Brighton where residents pointed at the unparalleled lines in confusion, some of which were peeling from their positions. Slanted white tape created a patchwork of crosswalk for pedestrians to venture across Washington Street, something residents say is a potential safety hazard.
"Is someone going to die crossing this?" asked one resident.
"Cars aren't going to stop for you for a while. It's Boston— they're not going to stop," said another.

It's possible the taped lines are a temporary solution as nearby road work encroaches on the walkway. Matt tried to perform his civic duty of connecting the lines, but came up short as the roll of duct tape ran out before it could meet the opposing curb.
Matt found brief success with chalk, as cars began to stop at the makeshift connecting lines. Though fearing repercussions from the City of Boston, the chalk was washed away.
Still, it's the thought that counts.
