Revere Hosts Mobile Covid Vaccine Clinic For Essential Retail Workers

REVERE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A mobile clinic brought the Covid-19 vaccine right to the workplace for several essential retail workers in Revere on Friday.

According to Dr. Nathalee Kong, the Chair of the Revere Board of Health, the tent set-up behind the Burlington Coat Factory at the Northgate Shopping Center represents what the vaccine rollout may look like for the city in the months to come

"I think as the weather gets better and we roll through the phases we want to be in everyone's backyard essentially --- get out in parking lots, and churches and schools," Dr. Kong said.

The pop-up clinic was also one of the first times the city has used the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine --- administering doses for workers at locations like Market Basket, Planet Fitness, the Four Point Sheraton and more.

"I feel bulletproof right now," one business owner said. "I think that this is the best thing that's going around right now -- we're all taking turns getting our vaccine done."

Dr. Kong said the city is currently working on identifying more mobile site locations to distribute the vaccine.

"By showing up right where they're working, or right where they're praying or right where they're going to school, we're hoping to reduce any of those barriers," she said. "And make it easy for all of our patients to make the right decision and to get vaccinated to protect themselves, their families and their community."
