SANDWICH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — There are roughly 6,000 residents over the age of 65 in the town of Sandwich and officials say they're having a hard time getting shots in the arms of residents.
The towns supply was already as low as 100 doses per week and now, Sandwich Health Director David Mason says it's even lower than that.
Sandwich started vaccinating residents older than 85 on Thursday, which is behind some other cities and towns in Massachusetts.
Phase 2 of the state's vaccination plan began on Monday and calls for people 75-years and older to start being vaccinated.

Mason says the town will reorganize the roll out into groups of residents over the age of 85, followed by residents over 75 and then residents over 65.
"The reason for this is due to the limited vaccine," said Mason.
Public Health Nurse for Barnstable County Dierdre Arvidson is also working to vaccinate the over 2,000 seniors on the Cape with her limited supply.
"With my 975 doses, we'll just rotate sites until we get more vaccines," said Arvidson.
