NEEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts State Police in Needham responded to an incident early Tuesday morning involving two pickup trucks.

According to police, the crash happened on Interstate 95 South at Exit 33 in Needham. With rainy conditions at the time of the crash, authorities believe that one of the pickup trucks lost control and turned perpendicular to oncoming traffic, before being broadsided by a second truck.

The operator of the first vehicle was later determined by EMT’s to be dead on the scene. The operator of the second truck was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Three lanes on the southbound side of I-95 were closed for roughly two hours due to the crash.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
