CONCORD, N.H (WBZ NewsRadio) —The New Hampshire Supreme Court denied an appeal for a bail hearing for the truck driver involved in a 2019 crash that killed seven motorcyclists.

Volodymyr Zhukovskyy allegedly crashed into a group of motorcyclists from the JarHeads Motorcycle Club, that includes Marines and their spouses, killing seven in June 2019. Zhukovskyy pled not guilty to seven counts of negligent homicide.

The Supreme Court ruled that an evidentiary bail hearing was not necessary due to the fact the prosecution and defense dispute facts relating to how dangerous the suspect is to himself and others. Zhukovskyy was previously held without bail after both parties agreed he was a danger to himself and the public. He has since appealed this decision three times, twice in 2020 and again in April 2021.

In 2019, the court stated its reasoning for denying bail to Zhukovskyy was due to the fact his “criminal and driving history exhibit a pattern of operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner.” Zhukovskyy was reportedly under the influence of drugs and driving recklessly the night of the 2019 accident, where eyewitnesses saw him veer into the other lane of traffic at least twice before colliding with the bikers.

It was also later revealed that Zhukovskyy's drivers license should have been suspended prior to the crash due to a past drunk driving arrest.

Zhukovskyy's trial is scheduled for Nov. 29. WBZ's Karyn Regal has more.
