WILMINGTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — There was chocolate as far as the eye could see at the second and final day of The Chocolate Expo in Wilmington Sunday.

Dozens of vendors lined the cavernous Shriners Auditorium, offering everything from standard chocolate bars to fancy delights that come with pre-recorded music.

WBZ NewsRadio asked a couple of vendors how they put their products over the edge with so much tasty competition.

"Butter, sugar, and chocolate, it’s just a magical pairing," one vendor said.

"In my opinion, there’s no such thing as perfect chocolate, but it’s very important to use high quality ingredients," said another.

The weekend's schedule of events included truffle, mousse, and bonbon demos, seminars on the origins of chocolate and molding gourmet chocolate, and a kids zone with face painting, balloon twisting, and craft activities.

For many, a big draw to the expo was the appearance of cast members from the 1971 film "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory," based on Roald Dahl's novel "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Peter Ostrum (Charlie Bucket), Julie Dawn Cole (Veruca Salt), Paris Themmen (Mike Tee Vee), and Rusty Goffe (Oompa Loompa) signed autographs and took photos with fans.

"Once I found out Mike Tee Vee was here, that’s all I needed, chocolate or not," one woman told WBZ NewsRadio.

After wrapping up in Wilmington, The Chocolate Expo will move to Edison, New Jersey on March 9 & 10.
