PEABODY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A few sister softball sluggers from Peabody High School are making headlines for their recent matchup against rival team Bishop Fenwick, where sisters hit home runs in the same game.

Isabel, Abby, and Lizzy Bettencourt told WBZ's Brooke McCarthy that the success comes from the swing and sister support.

"Our record shows that it takes a close community to win games. We come here and practice, we're always with each other, we're each other's best friends," said middle sister and team pitcher Abby.

Abby was the first to hit one deep into the outfield, followed by the oldest Isabel, and then the youngest Lizzy. The three all agreed the game would probably be a talking point at family occasions for years to come.

The sisters have their eyes set on the State Championship, but no matter what, the Bettencourt's say they have each other.

"We have each other's backs and it's a great support system," Lizzy said.

"We were in the finals last year so I'm hoping this year we'll be able to take it all the way," Isabel said.
