With only 11 of the awards distributed each year, The Topsfield Fair is the only organization in New England that received an Up-Stand Family-Friendly Award in 2023.

According to the Up-Stand website, the annual Family-Friendly Awards are designed to celebrate accessibility and change norms around family-friendliness. The aim of the awards is to recognize outstanding efforts to improve access for children and their caretakers, advance awareness about how to accommodate families, encourage high standards of accessibility in the service industry, and provide families with a guide to support these providers and ask for these accommodations elsewhere.

The website also mentions that winners are selected based on demonstrating innovation, creativity, and leadership, represent Up-Stand's mission, and make effective use of available resources.
