Worcester Police Arrest Accused Carjacker, Caught In Drive-Thru

WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Early Friday morning, Worcester Police were dispatched for a report of a stolen Subaru Forester, tracking the carjacker to a Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru.

Officials said that 27-year-old Anthony Vinton of Mendon St, opened the vehicle's door and got in while the car was parked and left running by the owner. According to police, witnesses said that the vehicle's owner confronted Vinton, yelling for him to get out of the car when he allegedly pushed her to the ground and drove away. The owner had never seen Vinton before and did not have permission to use the vehicle, police said.

The vehicle was located at a Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru on Grafton Street, where police said that Vinton was ordered to get out of the vehicle and was placed under arrest. Vinton did not have a driver's license, officials said.

Vinton was charged with Carjacking, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Use of a Motor Vehicle without Authority, and Assault and Battery.
