BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Red Sox' worst month this year, so far, has been May. 18-11. Still a .621 winning percentage.
March and April, 21-7. June, 17-10. July, 19-6.
This month, even riding a three-game skid, 13-and-5.Boston really hasn't had to deal with any adversity this year, at least in the standings.
Sox skipper Alex Cora would like to keep it that way.
"Sometimes I hear people saying that it'll be good for them if they start losing, I don't believe in that one," he said. "Even winning, we're learning about our team. We've been playing good baseball and we knew that base-running had to be better, and it's been better. Certain situations, we have to be better. There's a lot of learning when you win. I know there's learning when you're losing, but the whole thing about like, they need to go through a bad stretch? Not really. People don't like to lose. They're being very disciplined as far as like, what we need to do on a daily basis to avoid losing streaks or get caught up on the winning, so that's how we feel about that."
